Membership - American Sail Training Association

Thanks to you
our 2011/2012 Annual Appeal
was a resounding success!

Thank you to our Steadfast Shipmates!!!

Our heartfelt thanks goes to all who have contributed to this year’s Annual Appeal and Challenge Grant campaign.  Thanks to your steady faith in the mission and the work of Tall Ships America, we have met our $30,000 challenge grant goal, and effectively doubled the impact of your generous support!

This means that we will be able to continue to provide the scholarships, professional development grants and other vital member services to keep the fleet sailing strong.

We would also like to make special mention of the following supporters:

Captain Arthur M. Kimberly
June 27, 1922 – September 17, 2011
Capt. Arthur Kimberly, “Skipper” as he was known throughout the world by his shipmates and friends, died peacefully at home in Florida on Sept. 17, 2011. Capt. Kimberly and his wife Gloria owned and sailed the brigantine ROMANCE for over 20 years, twice around the world and on countless trips to the South Pacific, throughout the West Indies, and other waters.

We would like to express our profound respect and gratitude to Skipper for his lifetime dedicated to raising up the next generation of deep-sea sailors, and for his most generous bequest to Tall Ships America

Henry H. Anderson, Jr. Tall Ships America Endowment Fund

A special thanks and recognition to Harry Anderson and all 350 of his closest friends who turned out on June 18, 2011 for Harry’s 90th Birthday Gam to celebrate his 90th birthday and raise money for Henry H. Anderson Tall Ships America Endowment Fund.

It was a festive night celebrating the life and accomplishments of a remarkable individual and sailor, as well as raising awareness for Tall Ships America. Proceeds from the event as well as contributions to the Endowment Fund totaled $400,000.  Thanks to all who worked so hard and gave so generously to make this campaign a success.
