Dick is proprietor of the Columbia Trading Company, the retailer of used, rare and new maritime books and related nautical art and antiques on Cape Cod. Previously, he was employed in commercial and investment banking for twenty-five years by Bank of Boston/Fleet Bank. During much of his career as both line officer and manager, he specialized in domestic and international transportation companies (shipping, trucking, air, etc.). Prior to joining the Bank, Dick worked for the Sea Education Association in Boston and Woods Hole during the first four years after its founding. He has served on SEA’s Board during most of the years since then; he was Treasurer for nearly twenty years and Chairman of the Board for four years. He is a graduate of Yale University and the Harvard Business School, and he served as an officer in the US Army from 1968 to 1971. Dick is married and has four children.
